Maple Mountain captured its first Class 5A boys state title with an 82-92 victory against Viewmont at the Utah High School Activities Association Cross Country Championships at the Regional Athletic Complex in Salt Lake City. Abram Sumsion covered the 5-kilometer layout in 15:38.8 to finish fifth, Aiden Cope captured ninth in 15:52.7, Max Ulrich earned 11th in 15:56.6, Caleb Woolford took 18th in 16:07.2, Tyler Phelps grabbed 39th in 16;28.3, Connor Allen achieved 91st in 17:34.9 and Clay Tischner was 129th in 18:15.7 for the Golden Eagles.
